Mayor and County Recognition Day for National Service is April 4, 2017. On this day, mayors and county officials will use traditional and social media to highlight the value of national service to the nation's cities and counties. Last year 3,539 elected officials representing more than 178 million Americans participated in the Mayor and County Recognition Day for National Service.
Mayors and county officials are increasingly turning to national service as a cost-effective strategy to address local challenges. The estimated value of volunteer time per hour is $23.56.
Currently there are 31 volunteers in Pleasant Grove serving in locations such the Pleasant Grove Senior Center, Project Linus, New Friends Quilt Circle, Thanksgiving Point, and Meals-on-Wheels among many other locations.
